Privacy

No cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party code, no accounts. This page exists to say so precisely rather than vaguely.

The short version

This site does not collect anything about you. It sets no cookies, stores nothing that identifies you, runs no analytics, embeds no scripts or fonts from anyone else's servers, and has no accounts, comments, forms or newsletter. Your search queries never leave your browser.

Cookies

None. There is no consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.

Local storage

One value is written to your browser's local storage: your choice of light or dark theme, stored under the key cj-theme. It exists so the site does not flash the wrong theme when you open the next page. It is not an identifier, it is never read by anything but this site's own stylesheet logic, and it is never transmitted. Clearing your browser data removes it. If you never touch the theme button, nothing is written at all.

Search

Search is not a service. The index is a set of static files this site serves like any other file; the matching, the typo tolerance and the ranking all run in your browser. There is no search endpoint, no query log, and nothing to subpoena. Typing a sensitive question into the box on this site is as private as typing it into a text editor.

The one thing to be aware of: if you use the search page rather than the header box, your query appears in the page address, which means it can end up in your own browser history. That is local to your device, but if you are using a shared computer it is worth knowing.

Third parties

There are none. Fonts, stylesheets, scripts and images are all served from this domain. No content delivery network, no tag manager, no advertising network, no social media widget, no embedded video, no comment platform, no error-reporting service.

External links — including source citations and the occasional link to a professional service — open on someone else's website, where their privacy practices apply and ours stop. All of them are marked as external and open in a new tab.

Server logs

Like any website, this one is served by a web host that keeps standard access logs: the address of the page requested, your IP address, your browser's user-agent string, and the time. These are generated by the hosting software, not by us, and are used only for security and to keep the server running. We do not analyze them, build profiles from them, or combine them with anything else. They are retained for a short period by the host and then discarded.

Children

This site is written for adults and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, which includes children.

Your rights

Data protection law gives you rights to access, correct, delete and port the personal data an operator holds about you, and to object to its processing. We hold none, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete or port. If you would like that confirmed in writing, write to [email protected] and we will confirm it.

Changes

If this site ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so plainly and specifically before it happens — not in a general clause reserving the right to change practices at any time. See also terms and how we work.
